Photos behind the scenes on Supernatural 5.06
Okay, folks:  I promised behind-the-scenes photos from my visits to two separate locations during shooting on Supernatural episode 5.06, I Believe the Children Are Our Future, after the episode aired.  I finally got them posted. The two different locations are in separate album slideshows over on my Photobucket account.

You can see the pictures from the location for the house where the babysitter died over here.

You can see the pictures from the house used for both Jesse's house and Julia's house over here.

The first one includes shots of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles during shooting and between takes. I don't have any shots of the boys at the second location (we were asked not to shoot once they were working), but I went a little wild and crazy with the Impalas. *grin*

I wrote up the experience here earlier. There are more specific details included in the descriptions on the photos in the Photobucket albums.

No hotlinking, please. All images are Copyright 2009 Bardicvoice. Enjoy!!

Thanks for sharing your pics - lovely as always! I almost cried when I saw this episode.... I was sitting on that road in my rental car... the day before -- recognized all the houses.

Oh, I feel for you; I remember how totally bummed I was a couple of years ago, when I couldn't find their location for love nor money, and only learned where they were the night I got back home to Virginia. Arrrgghh!

But I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!

I enjoyed your slide show. Looks like you had lovely weather for standing around in the countryside. Thanks for sharing your experience.

You're welcome! And actually, there are 5 Impalas, but only three are road-worthy: the two we saw, and the stunt car. Number 4 is in separable pieces on a green-screen set - the car they use for shots when the boys are talking while driving - and number 5 is the smashed ruin from the end of season one.

It takes a lot to make a show!

Oh my GOSH what a lot of work goes into these shows!! Even before there's film in the camera! I'm even more impressed now. Can I say again how lucky you are to have been able to watch and record all that? Thank you so much for sharing.

You're welcome, and I wish you could have been able to be there!

lovely!

So good that you, your friend and the SPN folk were grownups and good to each other.

The pictures were of excellent quality. Thank you for sharing them (though the slideshow means they don't save). Beautiful scenery and fine weather, there.

The narrative reminded me of a *good* travelogue.

I would love to see a craftspersons' panel, myself.

Thank you!

If you want to snag photos, you can stop the slideshow and choose to see the individual pictures. If you can't for some reason, but would like to grab a few photos, let me know, and I'll provide a link to the static album.

Yea!!! Thanks so much for posting Bardic. I have to admit I let out a little squee when that scene of the boys pulling up to the house in the Impala came on screen!

I'm so glad we got the chance to see this happening, live and in person! It will definitely be an experience I never forget.

I know the odds are against it, but I hope we might get the chance to do it again, sometime!

the boys seem very relaxed.thanks a lot for the pics!!!

You're welcome! Everyone seemed to be having a good time, both the boys and the crew. The only tension seemed to stem from everyone's common desire to make everything the best it could be - and that kind of tension, I endorse!

Hi Mary!

These are amazing pics!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing! How much fun to see them film and see the locations they were at! It really shows you how much work has to be done to get a single scene shot. From seeing the Impala to the houses they were using to seeing Jensen and Jared - wow!!! I am happy for you that you got to see all of this at last and I bet you had a ball!

Thank you as always for your reviews as well - I love reading them!

JoAnne :)

Thanks, JoAnne! I had an absolute blast, and I am never going to forget this!

I'll also be posting more one of these days - when I manage to get the time - about what I learned on the location tour with Russ Hamilton, the location manager. There's more even about this episode. For example, they shot Jesse's bedroom and his parents' bedroom in the house they used for the place where the babysitter died, not in the house they used for Jesse's place. They used the first floor interior there for Julia's house. The kitchen and living room from Jesse's house were built in the studio.

And no WAY would you figure that out from watching this episode!
