Day Six of 41 Days of Metallicar ...
Here's today's 100-word drabble entry in the 41 Days of Metallicar celebration -- a bit less angsty than I've been lately!

*****************************
Winchester

“Is there any town in Virginia that doesn’t claim to have a Civil War ghost?”

“Don’t be a spoilsport, Sam; we’ve checked out less.”

Apart from Dean’s childish delight in the town’s name, Sam couldn’t figure out his enthusiasm. There was nothing to go on but overblown tourist legends, but Dean was bubbling over with repressed glee. He’d even washed and waxed the car in the motel parking lot, though what that had to do with a hunt was beyond Sam.

Until he saw the sign.

Flyin’ and Cruisin’ Festival
Airplane and Auto Show

“Dean ...!”

Fun note: the Flyin' and Cruisin' Festival in Winchester, VA is absolutely real, and I've laughed my head off each time I've worked the show in the past couple of years, for obvious reasons!

Of course Dean wouldn't tell Sammy the REAL reason! *snort*

Winchester is actually a delightful place, and very rich in Civil War history -- you can read about it in my Civil War motorcycle diary! Of course, I grin every time I even think about it ...
