Civilians: a Supernatural fic
Okay:  I have committed fic again.  This one actually started around Thanksgiving, and just took time to bake.

Apologies for folk who may be waiting for more Supernatural University meta:  the thinky thoughts are taking time I don't have just at the moment, what with the serious crunching at work. Hopefully this weekend may allow me to wax philosophical again, since my nearest boffo deadline will pass on Thursday.

In the meantime, however, I offer you a roughly 3,400 word piece of fanfic, in which Dean and Sam save the lives of a married couple, who in turn have to deal with knowing about the supernatural. I give you, Civilians, which takes place vaguely sometime in season three.

Comments are love and hot chocolate.

I just love when Dean gets some care.

So do I! I really enjoyed giving the boys a safe harbor ...

Honestly, I was reading this story, expecting Amy and Don to pop off as demons. I was so glad you didn't go there!

I really liked it.

I fancy myself as something as a SPN fanfic writer. I write on Fanfiction, because I haven't figured out LJ yet. If you would like to read mine, let me know. I'll provide the links to you.

Again, so glad you didn't go with the obvious! And great story!

Thanks, Kat! I'm glad I didn't do the expected!

I'd enjoy reading your stuff, I think. I keep a presence over on ff.net too; I have the same name there as I do here, and there's a link to my ff.net page on my LJ sidebar. I finally brought my older SPN fic here, but my other fandom stuff (Starsky & Hutch, Alias Smith and Jones, The Professionals, Stargate SG:1) remain only on ff.net.

Trade you!

Re: hey
Thank you! Ain't so bad yourself, y'know? *grin*

Wait until you see the next one. I finally sent psychoactivtoad my almost-Sweet Charity fic for her, which is, I think, the darkest, most disturbingly graphic thing I've ever written. She gets to read it first, before anyone else, but I expect it'll be going up once she's had the chance to digest it; maybe this weekend. Brrr. After it goes up, I'm going to have to come back here for warmth and hope again!

Re: hey
When I did the Missy Bender fic and she began slicing into Dean and beating him, I was very disturbed by what was happening. But don't worry apparently there are a lot of people who like seeing the boys hurt. Your story will be extremely popular.

Nice to see people helping when so often people don't, both in real life and in the show. You can understand why most don't, they don't want to be reminded of something which is outside of their world view and it can expose them to the police, other supernatural creatures etc. But you have to think there are some people out there who would help.

Thanks! For all that there's a lot of selfishness in the world, there's also a lot of generosity, and I really wanted to depict people making the choice to do what they can and acknowledge that you don't have to be a hunter to make a difference. My little soapbox for Supernatural activism, I guess ... *grin*
